Hello! My name is Julian Calder.

I am working as a project engineer at Emerson DGM, where I lead the implementation of advanced grid monitoring and control software for electric utilities across the country.

I studied physics and computer science at Middlebury College, and I am interested in applying modern technology to enable people to live more sustainably. I have worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the areas of PV material research and improving EV component efficiency, and I spent a semester abroad studying sustainable engineering in Stockholm.

Outside of my academic and professional pursuits I enjoy woodturning, photography, cross-country skiing, and biking on the numerous trails around the Twin Cities.
